Visual elements

Beyond charts and copy, decks can include icons, diagrams, decorative blocks, and standalone SVG assets—generated or vectorized by the Agent and partially tunable on the canvas. See Motion & animation for animated effects.

What visual elements are

Visual elements are everything on a slide beyond plain copy and data charts: semantic icons, flow and architecture diagrams, decorative graphics, and programmatic backgrounds. They convey structure, mood, and brand—not necessarily spreadsheet data. For entrance effects, looping backgrounds, and similar motion, see Motion & animation.

Common types

  • Semantic icons: checks beside bullets, trend arrows, industry symbols—aligned to your design system.
  • Structural diagrams: flowcharts, architecture sketches, relationship maps drawn as embedded vectors at render time.
  • Decorative vectors: flat icons and illustrations as standalone SVG in your project library.
  • Decorative graphics: dividers, geometric backgrounds, emphasis blocks.
  • Images: uploaded brand or product shots, or Agent-generated mood bitmaps.
  • Motion visuals: gradients, dot fields, entrance animation—see Motion & animation.

Charts vs visuals

  • Charts: tied to structured data—trends, comparisons, shares; editable via the refine data table.
  • Visual elements: structure, flow, decoration, or atmosphere—often without a numeric table.
  • One slide can combine both, e.g. a bar chart plus a three-step flow diagram.

How to generate

  • Describe intent in chat: “Slide 2 with a three-step flow diagram” or “Add trend icons to highlight growth.”
  • When rendering, the Agent picks icons, SVG, or programmatic visuals to match your design direction.
  • Upload reference images for composition or style—the Agent will not trace protected brand logos.
  • Complex slides may stack multiple visual layers as the narrative requires.

Vector art & vectorization

Beyond structural diagrams on slides, the Agent can generate standalone SVG assets or vectorize existing bitmaps into your project library, then embed them on slides. Chat streams an SVG draft while it works.

  • Structural diagrams (flow, architecture, timeline): drawn directly at render time—not standalone SVG generation.
  • Decorative vector art / icons: e.g. “Draw a flat vector coffee-cup icon”—the Agent generates a standalone SVG asset.
  • Bitmap to vector: e.g. “Vectorize this image”—best for simple flat icons; complex photos have limited results.

In Settings › Preferences › Default SVG model, choose a dedicated engine (per-call billing) or an experimental option (billed similarly to Chat). See the pricing page.

How to edit

  • Semantic changes: “Make it four steps” or “Use a more corporate icon style” in chat.
  • Canvas refine: select a visual block that supports refine and tune color, opacity, or Agent-declared parameters.
  • Copy and images: click text to edit; swap or restyle image elements in code mode.
  • Large structural changes (new layout, new modules) are still best handled via chat with the Agent.
